Will There Be Time?

I feel I’m almost Home, Lord
I’m tired yet I can’t sleep
So many thoughts are haunting me
So many emotions, deep.

Will there be time to tell someone
I loved them unto death?
Time to ask friends and family
To choose You with my last breath?

I may have no tomorrow, yet
There may be many days
To live here on this earth Lord
Still time to learn Your ways.

But yet I think it wiser
To treat each day as my last
So I won’t put off a moment
Some small important task.

So though I’m almost Home, Lord
I need a little time
To show folk that You love them
And You’re a Friend of mine.

I Was Walking.

I was walking down a narrow path, high mountains either side
The darkness of the shadows struck fear in me
Then I heard the quiet rustle of another pair of feet
And a quiet man fell into stride with me.

At first I was in fear that He was there to do me harm
His darkened face half covered by flowing hair
But without a word He walked with me and gave a silent nod
As if He’d said “G’day” right then and there.

Well, we walked along together, with the shadows lengthening
It was a hot and dusty road we traveled down
I had a little water that was not enough to share
But as I gave it I watched Him drink it down.

The stranger drank that small amount and emptied out the flask
Handing it back to me with a grateful smile
As I grasped it with my hand, water splashed upon the ground
Yet there was no stream to be found for many a mile.

He then began to talk as we continued on our walk
I fell silent as such awesome things He told
He said that He could give me water so I’d never thirst again
If I had faith in the God He knew of old.

That stranger seemed to be my friend as I listened carefully
I accepted all He said that I should do
Then I closed my eyes and prayed with Him my fears all had flown
When I opened them the stranger had gone too.

The Cross.

We are told to stress the Resurrection
But without the cross where is the Christ Who died?
What’s the reason or the purpose for His dying?
For I know that my Lord was crucified.

It was there that He fought with our great enemy
It was there He conquered death and sin
Those tortured hours proved the culmination
Of His life and the pain He bore within.

Without the cross there is no resurrection
Without the cross where does salvation rise?
Christ is upheld to every tribe and nation
When the cross is raised before all human eyes.

So let’s remember the cross was the reason
That our Saviour came to earth as a babe
Born to die first, and then the resurrection
As the Saviour of the world He came to save.

Not Only This.

I open my eyes and remember You love me
When I close my eyes I remember that too
And not only this, there are ten thousand reasons
That I should adore You for loving me too.

Nothing I’ve done could deserve this loving
Nothing I thought of, or I ever could be
I was condemned to a lifetime without You
And another eternity in Hell I would see.

And not only this, You surrendered Your glory
Not only this, You came down to this earth
And hung on the cross till death claimed You as sinner
Rising in victory, though I had no worth.

Now, back in Glory You have not forgotten
The weak and the sinful You left far behind
All that You ask is confession; submission
You will restore sight to the Spiritually blind.

Then day by day we’ll rejoice in our Saviour
Rejoice in the trials that are making us strong
Not only this we remember You love us
Eyes open or closed, we to Jesus belong.

Lord, Let My End Come Quietly.

Lord, let my end come quietly
May my spirit soar aloft
On the breezes of the ocean
That feels so pure and soft.

Lord, let my end come joyfully
So my spirit still will sing
Your praises as You beckon me
To fly up on heaven’s wings.

Lord, let my end come gently
As You lift me in Your arms
May my family claim Eternity
With freedom from all harm.

Lord, let the memory of me
Be tempered with the thought
That I loved You in spite of
Not doing all I ought.

Lord, let my end be a welcome
Into the home of God
I long to hear the words,’ Well done
You were true to the heart of God’.

Who Rolled Away The Stone?

Which Angel rolled the stone away
When Jesus rose again?
I like to believe that it was God
Who entered in that cave?

He would have waited patiently
When Jesus went to Hell
To pay the price of sin
We know full well.

Jesus was God’s only Son
And precious in His eyes
Though He’d turned His Face away
As His Son died.

But once it was accomplished, Christ
The victory had gained
I think that God would be the first
Inside that cold dark cave.

I believe that God would call Him
And hold Him close again
A proud Father who would push the stone
And roll it right away.

But if I have been wrong Lord
With what I wrote today
Please tell me when I get to Heaven
For You rolled my stone away.

Another Year.

House work is done; too hot outside
I don’t like reading; can’t abide
The thought of ‘hanging’; wasting space
A useless member of the human race.

I can’t hide behind my age
Nearly eighty-three; another page
Is already rolling into view
Another year, so what to do?

Too poor to travel; too young to die
I have my wits and one good eye
My driving licence is still my own
If that should go? Just hear me groan!

I rest back in my comfy chair
I scratch my head; I’m losing hair!
My wrinkles gather, they don’t drop off
I try to sing, but only cough.

Would I like to go back in time?
Not really; I was out of line
The halcyon summer days at school
Spent in detention for breaking a rule.

A tom-boy and a rebel, bent
On causing trouble wherever I went.
Dreaming of high adventurous days
Loving my life and all of my ways.

I felt immortal; thought I could fly
The sky was the limit; it wasn’t too high
The years went by and my wings were clipped
My hopes were dashed; expectations slipped.

What now? Immortality is close to my grasp
I have found a Saviour, what more could I ask?
The sky is the limit I’m headed up there
Still with hope and a future God promised down here.

We Have A God.

We have a God Who hears our every prayer
We have a God Who bottles all our tears
Our Lord is near, much nearer than our breathing
How close is that! We have no need to fear.

We do not take one step without His presence
His plans with thought and love have long been made
If we but yield our will, our lives to Him
What peace will come as every step He aids.

He shelters us beneath His covering wings
He hides us in His own, His secret place
Though trials we face, He walks along beside us
He cuts the bands of failure and disgrace.

He still holds on when we are in the fire
We aren’t withdrawn till all the dross is gone
All our God’s works are perfect, so aspire
To do your very best; keep walking on.

One day we’ll hear the call, “Friend come up higher.”
One day He’ll say “Well done, my child, well done.”
Then as we soar through sky and clouds our desire
To be ever with the Lord has now been won.

You Have A Secret

Friend you seem to have a secret; there’s a light inside your eyes
And a warmth and tenderness you’ve shown to me
Is there something that you know about? It will not be a surprise
Oh please, brother, will you share your news with me?

I have heard that you know Jesus and He has love enough to share
But I’m a wretched man with a past I now regret
Do you think that I still have a chance to turn my life around?
I have no hope; strength; or determination left.

Will you let me sit beside you as you tell me what you know?
And why you look so full of optimistic joy
I have lived with sin and sorrow too many years of my life
Yet I started off as a happy, boisterous boy.

Now I want someone to show me if I can change my life
Or if this Jesus Christ could do just that for me?
I can’t go on any longer in my world of sin and strife
Please open up my eyes so I can see.

Tell Me About Yourself Award

Congratulations Marja on receiving that award, and thank you (I think) for passing it on to me!!
It was quite a shock to think about seven things about myself and since you know me so well you will know that I found it very hard not to list seven negatives.
I have been told that I make the average hermit look like a raging extrovert, but then I have had 82 years to practise!!

Well here goes.

1.I am an introvert and a practising hermit
2.I love to just sit and imagine God and how He and Jesus would interact with each other.
3.I can’t wait to get to Heaven.
4.I love every individual in my large and ever growing family and pray for them all to give their lives to the Lord.
5.I eat too much and am a chocoholic from way, way back.
6.I admit to being old but not yet mature. Will it ever happen? Don’t know!
7.I am still too impulsive. I jump off a cliff then look round to see if God is with me.

My five choices are:-

2 Encourage (Pam)
****************Maz's Carer...
For Ever His Servant
Woman Of The North
Red Scarf Diaries

To these lovely people, some old friends and some new ones, I am advised by Marja that the rules are:-

1. Thank the person who gave you the award
2. Reveal seven things about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to five other bloggers. Leave a comment on each blog telling them you have nominated them.

If you are one of the 5 blogs I nominated and would like to pass it on, copy the blog award to a post, reveal 7 things about yourself, and pass this award on to 5 other bloggers of your choice. Enjoy!

The Days Are Short

The days are short although the nights grow longer
The will to learn and to forget the past
The wisdom to behold Your plan and purpose
Is now my goal; our minds as one at last.

I will walk on; not turning, or regretting
I will walk on though trials may still remain
No stopping now; the world will keep on turning
Whatever comes, my Lord, You stay the same.

A diadem can glisten in my tear drops
I see a cross beside a lonely grave
It’s not the end of life, and love, and friendship
Just a brief parting; faith can still be brave.

The music pours through Heaven’s open portals
The sounds of praise now fill the halcyon air
We are reborn, renewed, and now immortal
Our mortal love now pure; no sorrow there.

Perception.

Perception is an awkward word for it always seems to me
That everyone’s perception is so difficult to see.
If I say, “Describe and elephant” or something there might be
Standing right before you, what you and I both see
May sound completely different and if we should close our eyes
To see what you’re describing it may be a surprise.
You may see white while I see black and another may say it’s grey
You may see fun in something that I don’t see that way.

I bought some carpet recently and the salesman said to me
It’s three hundred dollars extra to move the furniture you see
Now I just fumed, then panicked for my furniture was worth
Just about half three hundred; a quarter of the carpet’s worth.
When I said, “Forget the carpet, I don’t agree to that”
The salesman had another ace just underneath his cap
He quickly fudged the figures and the carpet’s price went up
The price for moving furniture then two hundred dollars off.

The total cost was just the same but my perception changed
The carpet sale continued, but I think I am deranged
For I had been persuaded to see things a different way
Yet I had not saved a penny! I should be put away!
Yes, perception is an awkward word and I am here to say
That everyone’s perceptions will differ in every way
I much prefer statistics for facts can never lie
My carpet cost remained the same and that perception’s mine.

Put The Kettle On.

However hard the day may be, however bad the news
If Mum said, “Put the kettle on” we, lost our fear and blues
When we returned late from our school, wet and cold from a long walk
Then Mum would put the kettle on as we warmed and had a talk.

It wasn’t that our Mum was rich or had nothing much to do
But she knew the power in a cup of tea and what is good for you
I don’t know that the tea had power except antioxidants
But there was comfort in her words and it seemed to make good sense.

Those words held far more comfort than, “Rinse the cups out in the sink”
Or “Turn on the tap and get yourself some cold water to drink”.
Through all our years of growing up we understand ‘Mother power’
That if all else fails put the kettle on it; it will be your finest hour.

A Good Hair Day?

Are you having a good hair day today?
Have you let your hair down before the Lord?
Have you wept over your sin then confessed and let Him in?
Are you having a good hair day before the Lord?

Did you bring your greatest treasures to the Lord?
Did you lay at His feet what you love too well?
Did you wash His feet with tears and dry them with your hair?
Are you having a good hair day as well?

When we think what Christ did for us on the Cross
There is only one thing we can do for Him
Break the alabaster box with the treasures of greatest cost
And lay them at His feet. Do it for Him.

Do You Wonder What The Day May Bring?

Do you wake up in the morning and wonder what the day may bring?
Do you tend to dread or fear the unknown?
Well, you have a Heavenly Father who’s already planned your day
Then just thank Him, and place your hand inside His own.

It is an adventure to walk daily with the Lord
He is there beside You now and every day
Don’t look forward into shadow; look right up into His eyes
His love and mercy hold the key to life this way.

We don’t know what the future holds but we know it holds our Lord
He has plans to fill our life with hope and joy
Any trials any tests will make your testimony the best
As an ambassador for Christ whom we adore.

So take courage, dear pilgrim, for the war’s already won
And the battle is the Lord’s, His Word has said
Keep your armour at the ready and never turn your back
When you step forward it is you that Satan dreads.

Make A Note.

Make a note to tell someone you love them
Make a note to smile at passers by
Make a note to thank God for Creation
Make a note to praise the One Who died.

Make a note to thank someone for listening
It may be the kindest gesture that they gave
Make a note to do someone else a kindness
It will absolutely make their day.

Make a note to thank the Lord for friends and family
They are for your support and sent by Him
Just remember that good things are only borrowed
They’re on loan from God and made by Him.

You Are My Rock

You are my Rock; You are my hiding place
You hold me close; I’m safe in Your embrace
No fears can hold their sway within my mind
For You are my sight, without You I am blind.

You lead the way through dark unfriendly shadow
Your Word the Light as I walk the pathway now
The goal far more important than the journey
To live with You is goal enough for me.

You lift my head when troubles drag me downward
You shine on me such love ;You are adored
While from my heart a whispered prayer’s received
The answer comes already, and I find peace.

Reassuring Love.

Reassuring love; Reassuring love
That’s my Father’s gift to me, His reassuring love.
No matter what my trials may be or if I stumble on the way
He will bend down to lift me up that always is His way.

His mercy ever part of His correction of my fall
Each lesson that He teaches has His love draped over all
And as each new day follows with the chance to start again
I feel such a deep sorrow that I ever caused Him pain.

He always reassures me with His reassuring love
I’m so blessed to have a Father Who guides me from above
His Holy Spirit with me too as He whispers to my heart
"Keep going, little pilgrim, I’m still here although it’s dark."

A Strange New Land.

There's a strange new land across the highlands
It's surrounded by a wide and mighty sea
No boats are ever seen to cross it
And the trees never, never, turn green.

You may hear the frogs beside the water
Or splashing in the mud around the creeks
The strangest thing I've seen is that the frogs are not green
Did their colour slip away in their sleep?

Once that land was invaded by giant tractors
And men who drove around in great big trucks
They drilled and dug and messed around with earth works
Till the earth worked out that it was done for bucks.

Well, the men in yellow hats and some with white ones
Declared that progress was coming to that land
The creatures still alive crept away and tried to hide
But their food was gone in a black and slimy land.

So now it's called 'the land of no tomorrows'
Yet God gave the earth into our care
Do we tell our children stories of a dreamtime
When we had a lush green earth for all to share?

We are surely the caretakers of Creation
God gave a commission to us all
To take care of the land and its people
We must count the cost of destroying it all.

The Trumpet Call .

When the trumpet call has sounded and the Lord has now returned
When the clock of time no longer has a face
Will you stand before the judgement seat a washed and holy soul?
Or will guilt and sorrow show upon your face?

Is there someone unforgiven who has sought to do you harm?
Did you mean to tell the Lord but then forgot?
Are your sins and pain still clinging to your frail and fading form?
Then cry “Lord forgive them; cleanse my every spot.”

So friend, keep your lamp still burning for no-one knows the day
When the Saviour will return to claim his own
Then forgive, and be forgiven and you’ll keep the pathway clear
Instead of Judgement lay your crowns at Heaven’s throne.

You Hear My Heart.

You hear my heart when words won’t come to me, Lord
You hear my heart when tears don’t cease to flow
You hear my heart when memories are painful
Lord, take my heart, You know I love You so.

They fly to Heaven, these silent prayers of mine, Lord
Though just a breath released from laboured thought
As incense caught by golden bowls You are holding
Then my humbled heart flies upwards as it ought.

Your heart is mine, since Calvary had pierced it
Your heart is mine and so I worship You
My heart is Yours since ever You had willed it
You are my Lord; I love to worship You.

Do You Think Of Me Sometimes?

While the world is turning do you think of me sometimes
And remember that we were friends, once, long ago?
Do you see me as I used to be, though you have gotten old?
While I wait here for Heaven; not long to go?

The nurses move round quietly, trying not to laugh too much
They seem to think that joy should not be shown
While I am in God’s waiting room and thankful for the touch
Of a friendly hand that says “You’re not alone.”

The sun shines in through the window later on into the day
No warmth can pierce my air-conditioned room
The light shows up the particles that float around the air
When they lift the covers on my little tomb.

No, dear, I am not lonely, for they’re doing hourly ‘ops’
You see my glory time is almost here.
They are all kind and gentle folk that won’t let me die alone
They intend that someone should be always near.

While I’m waiting for an Angel to come stand beside my bed
And tell me that the Lord has called me Home
I’ve had time to think of someone whom I loved so long ago
And I hope you thought of me, and you’re not alone.

Lord Give Me Your Vision.

Lord, give me Your vision for every lost soul
Give me Your love to with mercy console
Those who are grieving for loved ones gone astray
Give me patience to seek and endurance to pray.

Help me to wait when things don’t seem to change
Give me Your Patience when no answer’s in range
Yours is the timing and Yours is the power
Saving our loved ones while we’re faithful hour by hour

Lord, give me wisdom to do what is right
When making decisions light my path with Your light
May I walk in obedience; not be a stumbling block
May Your kingdom come, my Lord, and my Rock.

Another Day Another Grumble

Another day, another chance to serve You, precious Lord
I’m trying not to grumble, it’s a fault I can’t afford
It only takes a glance outside to tell me that You care
The floor needs washing once again, but I will praise You there.

The rain has stopped, the sky is blue, so the washing can be done
I’ll sing to You as I hang it out so I won’t feel so blue
I’ll get the better of my feelings that remind me that I’m down
And lonely most of every day, but that won’t win my crown.

For I know that You are always there and I chat to You all day
But I wish a human being would pass along this way
Yes, I know that I have neigbours who are not too far away
But they’re too busy yelling at their screaming kids most days

I know the dogs are lonely too for I listen to their barks
And listen; listen; listen; it really is no lark.
Well, now I’m grumbling again and wishing things would change
If I could run away to sea I would be well out of range.

Wait, just a mo’, I’m not so sure about going out to sea
For way out on the ocean who would visit me?
I will stay home, and scrape my chairs, and let my back door bang
Then my neighbour is sure to call and greet me with a frown.

A Crowd Of Witnesses.

How great a crowd of witnesses
Gathered in Glory now
Look down with pride, with love and joy
To see God’s children grow.

We grow in love, in grace in peace
It is our Father’s will
Our journey home encouraged by
Those saints who are praying still.

Your eyes are on us Father, God
You will us to succeed
Arms out, ever ready, loving still
Offer everything we need.

How great oh Lord, Your love for us
No words can tell its span
You loved us well before our birth
Before the world began.

What can we offer, Saviour, Lord?
Our lives are frail at best
But take our love, our lives, our dreams
Our surrender, for Your best.

Vanishing Cream.

Where could I purchase some vanishing cream?
I would rub me all over and then not be seen
I could climb up a tree without scaring my Mum
And if she should call me I’d not need to come
For how can you expect someone not even there
To come in for their bath, brush their teeth, comb their hair?

And as for my homework I’m not really sure
For my writing would show up! Oh, what a bore!
Well, homework is out; if I’m not seen in my bed
My parents would worry, or go off their head
Why is it that vanishing is so great for me
When I then couldn’t come in and eat up my tea?

I may have to give this idea more thought
For what I thought fun now seems to be wrought
With all kinds of problems and difficulties.
I could cream myself ‘gone’ from my feet to my knees
That would be funny, but I think it is best
To cream myself ‘gone’ from my head to my chest.

That way, what ever the mess that I’m in
I couldn’t be blamed or put in the ‘sin bin’
I’d have to keep quiet and not open my mouth
For then I’d be caught out, for I tend to shout
When I am in trouble with no good excuse
Oh, forget that darned cream! What is the use?

Floating In A Fine Gray Mist.

Floating in a fine gray mist the moon is small and white
The owl is hooting in the wood; the echo builds the fright
A rustling first behind, then round, and now is coming near
The woods are daring me to stay and overcome my fear.

Excitement draws a gasping breath, when walking in the dark
I mean to stay in silence here till morning wakes the lark
The creatures of the night are free, no obstacles for them
The darkness is as light to them just as it is in Heaven.

The wonders of Creation are hidden from my view
I’ll use imagination to think what creatures do
When they scurry in a hurry from dark to misty place
Like the anxious beings that belong to the human race.

You Are My Lord.

You are my Lord. I cry out to the world today
Hear me! Hear me! Behold Your God!
Jesus, the crucified; Jesus, for us He died
Come now and see Him rise up from the dead.

He is Lord of the ages; the God of Creation
He walked the road to Calvary and went for you alone
Now risen up in victory He holds out His arms to you and me
Surrender to the Victor for He will lead you Home.

You are my Lord. I cry out to the world today
Hear me! Hear me! Behold your God!
Jesus the Creator the Saviour and the Master
Follow Him today and take the road He trod.

Do You Think Of That Day?

Do you think of that day when the God of the world
Gave up His Son for the sins of that world?
Think of all the evil down through the years
Thought, and committed, at Christ was then hurled.

He died as a sinner, His body was cursed
His Father disowned Him and what is even worse
We ‘Christians’ keep sinning, and our Lord deny
When He says, “Do you love Me?” we do not reply.

Do we love self and sin even though Jesus died?
Do we love our own opinions of what we deem right?
Do we give Him just a part of what He has bought?
Only a little, and then after much thought?

Remember the darkness that fell on the earth?
God shielded those watching from the sight of sin’s work
A precious Son, a Leader, a Guide and a Friend
Now in a body where sin and beatings blend.

Yes, that is what Jesus did for me and you
What do you offer in return? Is it ALL of you?

Chosen

I was wandering aimlessly, nowhere to go
Looking for friendships with those that I know
But the friendships didn’t fill the gap; I needed the best
And my heart was just yearning for comfort and rest.

I took up my Bible which I often did
But saw judgments and fear; so those pages I hid
Then my eyes lit on these words I’ll never forget
“I have chosen you” and right there I found rest.

I no longer called out, “Choose me, Oh, choose me!”
In silent appeal at the folk I would see
For I had now realised the decision wasn’t mine
I was chosen by God and not picked from a line.

Not chosen as the best looking girl in the bunch
Or because I took someone important to lunch
I was chosen by God because He has loved me
So much that His Son chose to die on that tree.

So I’d like you to know God has chosen you too
And there’s only one wise thing I think you should do
That’s to step forward and stand by His side
For with Jesus as your Saviour you won’t want to hide.

Wyn Barratt Sept 2011.

Am I Dreaming?

I am in a sphere that’s moving; it looks like a drop of rain
I am rolling then falling, then rolling, and falling again and again
How did I come to be here? When will this dream end?
If this sphere should burst what will happen? Will I just fall again?

One moment I’m lying snugly in my warm comfy bed
Then I must have dozed off for I was falling, but not falling out of bed.
First it seemed that I stood on a hilltop; on a glorious carpet of green
Yet the moon was shining down on me completing an eerie scene.

There were donkeys climbing the hillside with flowers around their head
They were dragging something behind them; some little kid in his bed
I think I should have been frightened but I heard someone calling out
“There’s no more cheese for your supper, it’s making scream and shout!”

This Is My Future.

Lord, I will never stop needing You
Lord, You will never stop loving me.
Oh Lord, You will never leave me
This is the future I see.

Lord, You never stopped seeking me
One day I stopped hiding from You
Lord You will never turn away from me
This is the future I see.

Seeking me, finding me, holding me close
No darkness can swallow the light around me
The waiting, the silence is a time for my faith
To bridge the gap with a prayer saying, "Lord, I believe."

Lord You’ll be always my King and my Friend
Holding my hand until my life shall end
Teaching and guiding with patience and love
This is the future for me.

Changing Things.

I know I can’t end my life span
So instead I will change things for me
My life’s out of line for I spend too much time
On things unimportant you see.

Like Facebook where I read with interest
All the antics of family and friends
I send the odd comment with humour
But no answer my humour commends.

I may just as well have done nothing
I wish I could live in a tent
With no window or zippered compartment
No one would know where I went.

I would like to live on an island
But with all the ‘mod cons’ there of course
No human beings are welcome
But a pet like a sweet little horse.

I could ride him all over the island
Teach him to pull me up from a pit
For that is my one bad habit
I dig a hole then fall right in it.

The future would always be rosy
Since no one would know my mistakes
Each sunrise would bring fresh adventure
No shopping or chewing tough steaks.

I could only eat fruit and fresh veggies
I’m too much of a goose to catch fish
They would wriggle and squirm and I’d drop them
They’d never be cooked on my dish.

From sunrise to sunset there’s freedom
To do what I want when I like
No TV to show all the bad things
No phone, no computer, no Skype.

No Sea?

I see huge waves on the horizon and so far out to sea
They burst up high and upwards like the water I boil for tea
Yet closer into shore they are just lapping gently
Yes, it is the ocean that I love and I know it’s plain to see.

I love all of God’s creation and the land in beauty lies
Carpeted with grasses, trees, and flowers to feast the eyes
But the thing that mostly thrills me, is this glorious sea
Of all of God’s creations it’s the most beautiful to me.

But, friend, I find I’m troubled, for though God’s Word I love to read
But somewhere I am sure it says in Heaven there’ll be no sea
If that is true, then, Father when Jesus comes for me
Will You ask Him to forget me and leave me by the sea?

How Many?

How many prayers does it take, Lord
To pray one soul into to Heaven?
How many angels are needed
To watch over seventy times seven?
I have so many questions
I’d like to ask You, Father, God
All the things that You did to help us
When You watched the path that we trod?

How did You work out our days Lord?
They are not just three score and ten
Some of us live much longer
So how do You share them then?
Some children and babies have short lives
Others an hour or two
How do You work out our days Lord?
How many are left for me, too?

There’s such interesting Math in the Bible
But it goes much further than that
So I want to know dear Father
How many for this and for that?
You see I am craving for knowledge
But I want to know You even more
It’s not that important how long I live
But I‘d like to at least reach threescore.

Do You Remember Your First Love?

Do you? Do you remember your first love
Did it not last? Then I’m sad, love
It was not meant to be that way.

Would you? Would you remember that parting?
How terrible was the heart ache
That you took away, then, with you.

One day, we will remember our first love
We may meet by surprise, one day, love
Would you still recognise me?

I’ve aged now; life has been good to me, love
As I’d have been good once to you my love
I meant to be ever with you.

We parted, not wanting to struggle with heart ache
No longer willing to partake
Of the cold cruel struggles of youth.

But one day we will meet and begin life anew, love
I will ever and always be true, love
My beginning and end is with you.

Sometimes.

Sometimes it seems I’m wasting the days you gave to me
Sometimes it seems I spend them hanging round
But the times I spend with You, Lord, when I’m on bended knee
They’re the greatest and the best times I have found.

You are never too busy to sit and talk with me
You never turn Your face the other way
It seems that all the problems that come to bother me
Are not too much for You to help me with today.

Sometimes I may forget Lord, to thank You for Your love
Yet there’s no way that You ever forget me
And so I’m here to say, Lord, as I’m looking up above
Thank You, thank You, dear Lord, for loving me.

I never will forget Lord that day at Calvary
When You walked right to the cross ready to die
You did it for all of us, but especially for me
So I want to say I love You, and that’s no lie.

You rose again in triumph and over death in victory
And set the power of Heaven at our right hand
Now Your Holy Spirit our Comforter will be
As He teaches, guides and leads to Gloryland.

Lord, I Don’t Know .

Lord, I don’t know how much time I have
It may be one more day
Or then again I might be here
For ever and a day
I only know that all I want
Is to be by Your side
And be consistently obedient
However hard the trials.

Lord I don’t know what You’ve planned for me
It’s still a mystery
But I do know that whatever comes
It will be alright with me
For You have my best interests
At all times in Your Heart
And as long as I stick close to You
We two will never part.

I Saw The Rays From Heaven Touch The Sea.

I walked beside the ocean, it seemed quiet but waves were loud
The sunrays filtered softly down through the clouds
I looked up into heaven; I knew the Lord was watching me
When I saw the rays from heaven touch the sea.

This time the world looked different in the early morning light
The seagulls walking on the sand suddenly took flight
Fishermen were bringing boats back to the quay
When I saw the rays of heaven touch the sea.

The clouds had spread across the sky and blanketed the earth
Wrapped in heaven’s cotton wool I saw Your hand at work
The restless tide began to turn and flowed towards me
The day the rays of heaven came down to touch the sea.

I know that God is everywhere it is so plain to see
The wonders of Creation spread from mountains to the sea
Wherever I may go I know the Lord is watching me
When the rays of heaven come down and then touch me.

God Sent Me An Angel

God sent me an Angel to keep me company
He was tiny, neat, and brown as a bird’s supposed to be
He stood right on the path I took to climb up the hill
Then glanced at me and ran ahead, sun glistening on his bill.

It wasn’t very long before we reached the hill top
He kept looking round to make sure I hadn’t dropped
As soon as he convinced himself that I would be alright
He wagged his head at me as he took his flight.

So, thank you, Father for angelic company
You showed me the love and the care you have for me
I know I’m not alone on a hill or back at home
You can send an angel any time so I won’t be alone.

Talking Trees?

I was standing in a copse; the trees were tall and dark
Their trunks were wide and overbearing too
There was little of the sunlight that the trees allowed inside
I stood there wondering what I should do.

It all depends on why you’re there beneath a stand of trees
What do you want the trees to do for you?
Their branches thick and heavy like arms upraised to strike
But their leaves danced harmlessly in pleasant view.

I heard a voice like thunder, it was the largest of those trees
“Well? Tell me, now, what I can do for you?
Do you want some shade from summer’s heat or climb upon a branch?
Make up your mind; if not, then move on through.”

It spoke again and I was scared for I am really small
“I am here to help the birds, not just for you
Now, move on, there’s a good chap for there’s going to be a storm
And if the lightning strikes I may just fall on you”.

Until I Met You.

Until I met You Lord I thought I was whole
I never realised that I had a soul
I knew nothing of hunger for Your righteousness
Of guilt for my sins; or hope of redress.

Until I met You Lord I thought I knew all
Of the joys and excitement that made my life whole
My hope was bound up with what I’d do next
I grew happy then sad, was calm and then vexed.

But then I met You Lord and what did I see
I saw Your sad eyes looking right into me
I looked at myself with my sin and my pain
I turned back to You as I realised my gain.

I lost all my guilt and I gained a new life
Eternity mine; help, in sorrow and strife
But most important of all a Saviour is mine
My future is Yours I don’t need one of mine

For You are my life Lord and You are my hope
Your hand is for holding when I’m at the end of my rope
You are leading me through the pathways to Home
You are my future, Lord; You are my Home.

Mix The Colours.

Mix the colours of my day, Lord
At the moment it’s all grey
But I’d rather not have blue, Lord
I’ve had enough of that today.

The bright yellow of the sunlight
On a warm summer day
And a saffron tinted sunset
I would love to come my way.

You see warm colours make my day
While cold ones freeze me out
It’s how you look at things that counts
At least that‘s what I’ve found out.

So please colour up my day Lord
With happy, warm, bright hues
For I just feel so sad now
With all these greys and blues.

Then when the sun goes down like
A ball of heavenly fire
I can look forward to the morning
When I’ll hear a vibrant choir

Of birds whose song is joyful
As they greet a brand new day
Full of yellows, pinks and reds, Lord
That You have sent their way.

Send the colours of Your smile Lord
And the red of Your beating Heart
The purple of Your Majesty
With all Creation’s art.

Holidays.

This will be my best day ever for the holidays have come
I’ve got to mind my little sister, but I’ll dump her and just run
I’ll take her to the bus stop and give the driver all my cash
While I tell him to drive her to the end and then bring her back.

Oh darn it! Now she’s crying as the bus has pulled away
You can bet she’ll dob me in to Mum and I’ll be shut away
‘Time out’ will be inside my room and I’ll be bored to death
While I hear my poor Dad saying “You know you’re wasting your breath”.

I’ve heard my Mom tell God on me and I wonder what He thought
I’m always in trouble for not doing what I ought
I think I hear Him chuckle when He looks down on me
For I know Jesus also had a sister or three.

I Bought A BOAT !!

I bought a little boat and it’s trying to stay afloat
But there’s a hole in the blunt end (it’s not a boat of note!)
The salesman said it had a sail but it just sailed away
And the rudder fell off when we hit a little wave.

I still had an oar an hour ago or more
But it slipped through a hole I never saw before
So now I’ve got my foot inside that ever widening hole
I’m bobbing along the coast, I hope it knows its own way home.

I’m not worried though I don’t have a sail
If I’m lucky I can latch onto a passing whale
Whatever happens I won’t be down in the mouth
For the wind is blowing east, though the current’s flowing south.

Well, I don’t know what happened but I’ve water in my mouth
Though the wind is blowing east and the current’s flowing south
I would stand on the bridge and salute as Captains do
When their boat goes down, but my bridge has gone too!

I Walked Out The Door.

I walked out the door the day that You called me
I heard Your gentle voice, yet I hardened my heart
Not wanting to change but with so many needs
That I should have been running right into Your arms.

I stood outside the door, I thought You couldn’t see me
The tears began to flow and I stifled my groans
I didn’t want to stay or return to that dark room
Where You had had Your say with “Child, please come Home”

That was just what my parents cried the day I was leaving
Leaving their care, for I wanted to roam
I was grown up, independent, resenting their caring
Indifferent to the pain I would leave in that home.

You followed me out of that room where You’d called me
I would not turn but You stayed close behind
I went on my way, my own way preferring
Not heeding Your presence because I was blind.

I don’t remember how long I lived without You Lord
Long enough to let sin beset all of my ways
But one day when fear and guilt was piled high as a mountain
I fell down on my knees and I cried out “Lord, please save”!

I felt a warm blanket of Love spread around me
My tears were burning as I knelt at Your feet
Then I rose to go home to the parents who’d raised me
And I saw them running right down the street.

Talk To Me.

Talk to me Dear Father as I go about my way
Even just a whisper throughout the day
Lest I am a rudderless wee small boat
Tossed on the seas of life trying to stay afloat.

Talk to me Dear Father when I am alone
I need to feel Your Presence inside my home
Quiet my frail spirit and fill me with hope
That anything You ask of me I’ll be able to cope.

Thank you for my blessings, I know they are on loan
The gifts from Your Spirit will be my own
While I am obedient and remain in Your will
These gifts are for Your glory as I worship with them still.

I Heard Your Call.

I heard Your call, “Come follow” Is that all?
Is it that simple, when I must give my all?
I can’t resist You or turn my face away.
‘Not I, but Christ’ is the only way.

I saw Your scars and the nails in Your hands
I saw the Father’s pain as You honoured all His plans
Nothing I offered could repay the price You paid
But now we can go Home with You, not held by the grave.

I saw the grave stone that was rolled away
You stepped out in triumph as Satan slinked away
Lord, I will stand with You wherever You go
It was just the way You looked at me; I couldn’t say ‘No’.

I saw the world and the sorrow in Your eyes
Lost and angry ones before a God they despised
Walking away from the blood that could cleanse
Blaming every circumstance; not making amends.

Will you heed the call, ‘Come, follow’, that is all?
Repentance and cleansing when you answer His call
A hope and a future Christ offers to you
If you seek after Him as I pray you will do.

Do We Deny Your Power?

Lord, do we deny Your power, because of unbelief?
Do we keep Your Sword from wielding so it remains inside its sheath?
Do we deny Your power because of lack of Faith?
What words of Yours this hour could change somebody’s fate.

Your Word is clear and forthright, it is always ‘Yea’ or ‘Nay’
It tells us all the things You’ll do if we will just obey
O give us simple hearts, Lord, to quote, “Our Father said”
And then, believing, act on it. Has God not raised the dead?

When we were dead in sin, Lord, You opened up our grave
You walked right to the Cross, Lord, because You came to save
We are our brother’s keeper and souls are won, not lost
By our believing prayer and Your death at such a cost.

The Lonely Road

I was wandering a lonely road and the light was fading fast
When darkness fell I was alone; I knew the light would never last
But the place that I was seeking had a light all of its own
I was on my way to Glory; the place that God calls Home.

You are my Light, my Comfort, and a Saviour, Lord to me
You are the only One that I really long to see
So long ago You died for me and I am travelling on
To the Glory land up yonder that my hope is set upon.

You gave Your all at Calvary; that day You set me free
From the ever tightening grip that sin had clinging around me
And now I’m free to worship You, to love You and adore
My God my mighty Saviour, as I learn to love You more.

My road’s no longer lonely for the Comforter is here
He’s walking right beside me and there‘s not a thing to fear
I can see the lights of Glory and its portals open wide
Now I have a brand new story that I’ll share once I’m inside.

Lord, I Have Come To You Again.

Lord I have come to You again today since I am all alone
And I want to say how much You mean to me
You know that I am working till the day You call me Home
But thank You, Lord, for dying for me.

No one could love me any more than You do, Dear Lord
No one could take my stubborn heart and set it free
You never will give up on me however hard it is
As You mould this grumpy soul to look like Thee.

So many times I feel I want to throw the towel in
So many times I slip and fall again
When I don’t see an improvement and I cannot stay afloat
I stop and wonder why You stay with me again.

So thank You Lord for loving me and holding me so tight
You have said that You will never let me go
If I make it up to Glory then I’ll know that You were right
And You’ll know that it is why I love You so.

All At Sea?

When I’m standing on this hill, Lord
The world looks fresh and new
The ocean’s multicoloured blue
The sky, a misty hue
The early morning sun has tried
To clear the mist away
But it needs the help of wind if it’s
To prove a bright clear day.

Small boats are bobbing out to sea
Their courage I admire
They look so small and frail out there
Is their Captain’s heart afire
With plans and compass, fishing nets
As he’s hoping for a catch?
But if a storm should brew up now
He would know he’d met his match.

That’s how we live our lives each day
Prepared, or so we think
For any trial or problem
Yet we are on the brink
Of sounding out an unknown depth
Of running into storms
That’s when we cry out to our God
And we feel so forlorn

Look! He’s walking on the water
He has the storm in hand!
It’s when we fail to look to Him
We lose sight of the land
He is our one True Compass
Our Shelter in a storm
Our Saviour Friend and Helper
No need to feel forlorn.

It’s Me Again.

Are You there, Lord? Are You, really? It is me again, you see
I’ve had a gray dull day today and with You I need to be
My joy slipped down the drain hole; my hope walked out the door
So many things went wrong, Lord; Felt like a dozen or more.

My laughter died from lack of fun, my optimism too
Now all I want is to be near and sit right down with You
If You told me a joke, Lord, I don’t think I could laugh
But I still want to hear what You think is my right path.

I want to step into the sunshine and fly through the skies
I want to hold a dear sweet baby if I see tears in their eyes
I’d like to tuck a child in bed who once had homeless been
I want to stroke someone with fevered brow, and make them well again.

I want to comfort those that grieve and wipe their tears away
Then I would tell them to look up, for their sun will shine one day.
I’d tell them to hold out a hand to another grieving soul
To sing praises to their Saviour, for He will make them whole.

And then when all is said and done I’d raise my arms to You
And thank You for my Salvation and the love that’s always true
I’d praise You for Creation and the life You gave to me
As I promise to be always true, just like You are, you see.

I’ll Never Tire.

I’ll never tire of walking here
Or sitting on a bench
I watch the ocean and the waves
They bolster up my strength

The time I spend in worship
And thanking You for life
Is a time my soul is blessed enough
To go back to my life.

If I’ve had an awful morning
You know I’d cry for You
There’s no one else that I would trust
To show me what to do.

All my trials come in bundles
Are they cheaper by the score?
Sometimes I think that one more thing
Would knock me to the floor.

It’s only when Your Peace comes down
And You wrap me in Your arms
That my troubles seem smaller
And I am not alarmed.

So now my fighting muscles
Have had some exercise
I will leave the restless ocean
For You are at my side.

The Restless Sea.

Oh how I love the restless sea
It reminds me of Your love for me
Those surging waves like Your strong arms
Flow over me; keep me from harm.

The bobbing waves far out to sea
Remind me that You searched for me
I knew all along if I should fall
Those waves would lift me over all.

Though trials and troubles I might face
I’m in Your heart through all Your Grace
No matter where I find myself
Your tide of love will be my help.

You are not silent, cold, or still
Your will is done through all life’s ill
I feel Your strength on every wave
Your endless love; Your power to save

It carries me from east to west
While I am resting on Your breast
When I have doubts I’m in Your will
You tell the ocean ‘Peace; be still’.

Then quiet waters whisper ‘Peace’
The restless waves their motions cease
You simply sweep me off my feet
In You I know my life’s complete.

Lingering Memories.

When memories stir and we dream of the past
The sorrow that lingers; love that never did last
The hot tears we shed; ‘if only!’ we sigh
The pain buried deep, while time slowly goes by.

One day is a lifetime with a thousand to come
Each one like the last and still more to run
The sky’s blue has faded; the sunlight is weak
Summer’s heat has been raided by the tears we weep.

Will the sun rise tomorrow or will it stay hid
In a blanket of sorrow and wait till it’s bid
To shine forth once more as our hope is restored
By the love of the Father and our tender Lord?

Walk On The Chaos

Walk on the chaos of my life
No need to calm the waves
You, Lord, have charge of pain and strife
I know that Jesus saves.

No plan of Yours is a mistake
My obedience is the key
To the success or length of stress
Come, Lord, take charge of me.

And when the Harbour comes in sight
Loved ones have lined the shore
I’ll hear You whisper “Well done, my child
Come Home, and roam no more.”

Seventy People.

Seventy people went down to Egypt
Seventy in the hands of the Lord
There they multiplied, prospered and lingered
Until God’s purpose had won over all.

Do you fear the Kings of your Egypt?
Do you despair of becoming strong?
God has promised a hope and a future
You will succeed if to Him you belong.

Seventy persons went down to Egypt
Seventy in the hands of the Lord
Living and learning, prospering, working
Mightily blessed in the hands of the Lord.

How many souls came out from Egypt?
How many souls in the hands of the Lord?
Hundreds of thousands came out in triumph
Mightily blessed in the hands of the Lord. (Deuteronomy 10.)

Lord, Your Spirit Reigns.

Lord, Your Spirit reigns within; You are my Rock, my Tower, my Light
No trial or trauma can remove Your presence, day or night.
Why do I fret and worry so when You are God of all?
Your purposes will be worked out however dark this pall.

Behind the clouds, beyond the storm the sun is shining still
So hear my song dear God of Love for I will love You still.
Your faithfulness a shining light that pierces all the gloom
Your Word is sure and can’t be moved, You are here inside my room.

How blessed we are that You are here and with us every day
Nothing can ever change Your love, You’ll never walk away.
But if we wander from Your side Your sorrow matches ours
We move with sin, neglect, or pride, lost moments become lost hours.

You gave Your life and still pour out a love as red as blood
Each drop is wrung out from Your Heart, You wish us only good.
So why is it so hard to trust, so hard to rest in You?
Again our pride comes into play we think that we should do

This thing, or that, we deem Your will; decisions, unwise, are made
Not resting but restlessness the line on which our life is laid.
So help us Lord to look to You for every breath and step
To take instructions from Your Word then trust Your guidance yet.

Walking Through Life.

Will you walk with me, beloved, through the springtime of our life
While our love is young and everything is green?
Will you hold my hand and vow with me that there will be no strife
While we look around at this glorious scene?.

Will you walk with me, beloved, through the summer of our life
When new hopes and plans for prosperity lie ahead
Our quiver full, as parents proud, of children fit and free
While we teach them where to look for Daily Bread.

Will you walk with me, beloved, through the autumn of our life
Now the children all have flown out from the nest
Our hopes and plans are all forgotten, and we are slowing down
Will you walk beside me even then?

Will you walk with me, beloved, through the winter of our life
When walking may be difficult at best
Just take my hand and we will walk down memory's lane instead
And watch our grandchildren play as we just rest.

If you should go to Glory first please look on me sometimes
I'll be the one that's walking home alone you see
But don't be sad for me because I'll be coming to Glory soon
And I'll be the young and pretty wife I used to be.

Not Just A Mom.

The call of duties every day is not the stuff of dreams
But walking on before the Lord is everything it seems
We take one faithful step at a time as we feel led to do
Or continue on our daily climb doing what we know You’d do.

The daily chores of family life as a loving, giving soul
Are the silken fabrics that surround those we know as our own
In turn, they will, when growth permits live out the same way too
Your way of care and gentleness, which they have learned from you.

So don’t despair that thrills may not be a frequent part of life
Just walk on with God and share His love; it’s a healing balm for strife
Walk on, don’t faint, your Lord is near beside you all the way
You’ll find the love you pour out now will return to you some day.

A Smile.

A smile always starts in the eyes of a child
It slips down their face till their lips open wide
If they chuckle the smile floats away on the breeze
And it lands on the face of someone passing, with ease.

That smile lingers on till they pass someone too
Perhaps it was you and you were feeling so blue
But now it has landed your heart felt it first
It was just as if you were dying of thirst.

For your lips have just parted as the smile slipped on down
You looked up to Heaven and saw a bright crown
The angels had made it to fit that little child
As a thank you for sharing their wonderful smile.

I Heard The Music Of Heaven.

A new baby is born
Eyes still closed, no clothing worn
But a cry rends the air around the bed
My eyes are filled with tears
Is he already sensing fear?
Or have I just heard the music of Heaven?

Morning dawned in pouring rain
Bad weather here once again
I must drive carefully to avoid a prang
As I climbed into my car
I could see the morning star
I heard the music of Heaven; an angel sang.

Children coming home from school
Running; breaking all the rules
Tossed their books and their boots on my clean floor
Then straight to the fridge; grabbed the milk
And spilled their drink
I heard the music of Heaven once more.

God is everywhere we are
In the humdrum; on a star
If we listen we’ll hear the Angels sing
So no matter where you go
He is with you all ,you know
You’ll hear the music of Heaven ring.

Faithful

Faithful to me; Faithful to me
There on the Cross You were faithful to me
You took all my sinfulness and set me free
I worship you Saviour, You’re so faithful to me.

Guiding me: You are guiding me
In my freedom You are leading and guiding me
No step would I take without holding Your hand
Saviour You are leading me through this great land.

Onward to Home; Onward to Home
Lord You will take me so I no longer roam
Draw me much closer Lord, I long to be
Right at Your side while You’re still leading me.

No more regrets; No more regrets
All that You send me I know is the best
Teaching and training me; letting me try
The ways that I praise You and the ways that You guide.

Only with You; Only with You
One day I’ll reach Heaven and be only with You
No one will take me right out of Your hand
As You walk with me Saviour to the glory You planned.

You Can Walk Across My Grave.

You can walk across my grave my friend for I will not be there
I have broken through my chrysalis, now I don’t have a care
There’s no pain and no more loneliness; no cold dirt over me
I’m walking down the roads of Heaven, enjoying all I see.

No need to cry beside my grave my friend, for I will not be there
I’m sitting in the sunshine of my Lord without a care
If I have time I will be looking for those I used to know
But Mum and Dad will be the first for I went them both to know.

That I’ve broken free of earthly cares since Jesus is my Lord
He died for me at Calvary and carried me aboard
The glory train to Heaven, so I want you all to know
That I’m basking in the light of God and I’m glad He loved me so.

Now it is so important that you hear what I say
For I want to see you all up here one grand and glorious day
There is such a crowd of witnesses cheering from above
With the Spirit, God and Jesus watching over you with love.

So please remember that although I’ve gone, I’ve not gone very far
For I will always love you, yes, you know who you are
You were always in my heart and my heart is still in you
So get ready for Heaven, it’s the best thing you could do.

The Sun Will Shine Through.

The sun will shine through tomorrow
The Lord God knows all your pain
He dealt with all that at Calvary
His anguish is your gain.

He weeps when you weep with sorrow
He holds you close to His heart
He whispers ‘There’ll be sunshine tomorrow
Just hold on friend and don’t you lose heart.’

You can do this for one day longer
If you say that on every morn
Then day after day you’ll grow stronger
A stalwart; let no one pour scorn.

No one should look down on My children
They were worth every drop of my blood
Whatever you suffer right now, friend
It will serve to do someone else good.

Your trials and sorrows are testings
To establish your testimony
You’ll come through them and shine like silver
A credit to both you and Me.

Every one of my children is different
For I made people, not clones
So don’t feel that you should follow the sheep
It’s the Shepherd that shows the way Home.

Amen.

Polution

Will tomorrow ever come? Will it be different
From all the tomorrows that I’ve had so far?
All the hopes and dreams I’ve sought to have answered
Seem to have moved even further than a star.

Shall I forget what might have been and see reality
That there’s nothing much of anything for me?
I’m a not a shooting star but just a shadow
A reflection of what someone else might see.

I sit here; I’m a pond amongst the refuse
That those visiting humans left for me.
They came, they saw, and then they dropped their rubbish
As if it was a gift they left for me.

Oh yes, they stopped, and sat, and looked at their reflection
In my water, not as clear as it used to be
I wonder what they saw. They didn’t like it
For they tossed all their rubbish into me.

If I were clean I could reflect God’s Creation
As the moon and stars shine down upon me
But my image is marred, I’m ugly and scarred
Can anyone find beauty now in me?

I dreamed that one day someone came to clean me
That they dragged all this rubbish away
But they only did it once and then another’s response
Was to toss more bags of garbage my way.

Songs About God.

Please Don’t Disappear.

Please don’t disappear Lord
I need You here with me
Because You are a Spirit
How can I see?

Please stay close to my side, Lord
Without You I’m afraid
My future’s in Your hands, Lord
Please stay, oh please stay.

Now I read Your Word, Lord
You said You’d never leave
My doubts were built on lies,
For the enemy deceived .

I will walk with You Lord
For ever and a day
Devoted just to You Lord
Now I know You will stay.

Strength For Today

Sweep me up in warmth and comfort
Help me carry daily care
Dry the tears I shed too often
When I wake and no one’s there.

Give me work; I would be useful
Though some tasks I cannot do
Brain, not body, is in order
Show me Lord, I would serve You.

How to help the poor and homeless
And protect a child with care
Feed the hungry, help the dying
All this I’d do if You declare.

Paying bills is no distraction
Pension not enough to share
So what to do and how to do it
You alone know that I care.

Maybe there’ll be no tomorrow
Maybe today will be my last
Strength from You I need to borrow
Just for today; That’s all I ask.

I Am Yours

It Is Later Than You Think.

While there is time, lift some souls to Jesus
While there is time, remember one in prayer
While there is time kneel in full surrender
And find the time to show someone you care.

While there is time pray for the world that’s dying
Tomorrow may not leave Eternity
Today may be the last one of your journey
Tomorrow I may call you home to Me.

While there’s time heal a sorrow or a friendship
While there is time remember those who cared
And helped you on your own way to Glory
They found the time to show love that they shared.

While there is time please keep on praying
For ones who are alone or full of pain
Pray for those you know and those you don’t, I’m saying
There may be someone who is homeless in the rain.

It’s later than you think, there’s not much time.

Keep Your Eyes On Us, Father.

Keep Your eyes on us Father
Don’t let us get out of sight
So many potholes are on this road
So few things going right.

We want to be always near You
So near we can hear You breathe
Your have the words of Life, Lord
The devil is here to deceive.

Keep Your heart with us, Father
We know we are loved by You
We really do want to please You
And do everything You would do.

Keep Your Spirit within us Lord
We need that comfort and strength
Sometimes the dailyness of our chores
Add to a hard day’s length.

We’ll keep our eyes on You, Father
We don’t want You out of our sight
You are our Leader and Guide, Lord
We know everything will be alright.

Just In Case.

Just in case you call Me I’ll be ready
Just in case You need Me, I’ll be there
One thing you need to know wherever you may go
My hand is on your life and I’m right there.

Just in case you feel no satisfaction
With the path of life You’re walking down today
Remember you’re My child and I am still your Guide
You will reach the goal I’ve set for you this way.

Just in case your joy is disappearing
Look up and see that I am cheering you on
My joy is found in you and that’s what you should do
Be joyful for you and I are one.

---------------------------------------------------

Well, just in case You call me I’ll be ready, Lord
Just in case You need me I’ll be there
One thing that I do know, wherever I may go
You are leading me and closer than a prayer.

I’ll remember I’m Your child and You are with me
You will guide me down the path that I should go
Then when I reach the end, all my life You’ve been my friend
I’ll be ready just in case You call me Home.

What Is Heaven Like?

The sky is blue and cloudless
As if God opened His front door
I’d love to peep into Heaven
For five minutes or maybe more.

Angels may be rushing round
On errands where there’s need
Old ladies knitting sweaters
Or stuff they never need.

Young people playing baseball
But not even keeping score
I’d like to spend a day there
Or two or maybe more.

I’m sure it would be interesting
And busy as can be
Would there be a spare Angel
Who could take care of me?

This place is full of strangers
Where is my Granny? Where is Pop?
Why don’t they come to see me?
They must know that I can’t stop?

The sun is setting and when it’s dark
I must be home for tea
Do they have tea in Heaven
Do you think they’d invite me?
